What is SEO?
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation. It’s all about getting your blog to perform better in search engine results – which, in turn, will bring you more traffic to your blog. The beautiful thing about search engine traffic is it’s consistent, long-term traffic that keeps on coming month after month – unlike the peaks and troughs most of us experience from social media traffic.
SEO is the reason I was able to grow my blog so fast and it’s the reason I am able to make thousands of dollars every month in passive income!
It’s no exaggeration to say SEO changed my life
I started my first blog, easypeasyfoodie.com, in May 2015 and for the first 2 years it grew… but very, very slowly! I threw my heart and soul into creating great content and sharing it all over social media and… well it wasn’t quite crickets, but nearly!
By early 2017 I was mighty fed up with my slow blog growth and the fact I was still earning peanuts from blogging…
Something needed to be done!
So, I tried a little experiment…
I spent a month learning all about social media and trying every trick in the book to grow my blog through social media traffic.
Then I tried a month learning all about Pinterest and trying every trick in the book to grow my blog traffic through Pinterest traffic.
Finally, I spent a month learning all about SEO and trying every trick in the book to grow my blog traffic through search engine traffic.
By the end of 2017 my blog traffic was nearly 10 times what it was when I began the experiment!
But the interesting thing was that my social media and Pinterest traffic had barely increased… almost all that growth was down to an increase in search engine traffic!
I was sold. From then on, I dedicated myself to learning everything I could about SEO and applying it to my site… by the end of 2018 my blog traffic had grown by a whopping 1500% and it has continued to grow and grow since then.

Not only have I seen an incredible increase in TRAFFIC since I first started learning about SEO, but I have also seen an incredible increase in my INCOME from blogging over the same period. I went from earning peanuts to now literally earning thousands a month from my blog – and most of that is PASSIVE INCOME!
Growing my search engine traffic meant I was able to apply to Mediavine (a high paying ad company) and start earning thousands of dollars a month from ads.
Earning good money from my blog means I can work from home, be my own boss and work the hours I want to work – the hours that fit round my family. And it means I finally have a job that I truly enjoy – I actually look forward to starting work every single day!
And all this is possible because of SEO. I am completely sure that if I hadn’t got on board with SEO, my blog would still be tiny and I’d still be earning peanuts!

Is this course relevant only for Yoast or generic and would work with other plugins?
Hi AJ, most of the course is suitable no matter what SEO plugin you use, there’s one module which is about how to set up the Yoast plugin, which would not be directly relevant… but still worth working through – you would just need to adapt the material slightly to your particular plugin. Hope that helps! Eb 🙂
