  1. This was such a fun read! I definitely relate to number 8- I feel like any time I cook something, someone says I should add it to my blog. I love the “it’s complicated” response haha!

    1. Yes! I have had that awkward moment so often… and not just when I cook, people suggest I include all sorts of random stuff that my food blog is just not about. And it’s so hard to explain why not! I must admit, I tend to just smile politely, thank them for the idea and say I’ll think about it.

  2. Loved reading this and nodding along vigorously as I went. It’s true, we are a one-person team of 50 jobs roles. We speak a different language. The family are fearful of even looking at food before I’ve photographed it and the friends I’ve made through blogging are for life.

  3. I sent this to my sister, who has been telling all her friends about my food blog. She told me she has a couple of friends who just didn’t get it, so I said a short form of the article might help. She said probably not, and:

“A quote from a Texas judge came up when I was doing expert witness testimony. She said, ‘I can explain it to you, but I can’t understand it for you.’ I think it might apply to one or two of our friends sometimes.”

And that line seriously needs to be on a t-shirt!
